Median scores on PedsQL FIM total scale and the two subscales Parent HRQOL summary score and Family functioning summary score in PFAPA patients before vs after tonsillectomy, and controls. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to compare data before and after tonsillectomy in the patient group, while the Mann–Whitney test was used for comparison of the patient and control groups. There were significant differences between PFAPA patients before and after tonsillectomy and between PFAPA patients before tonsillectomy and controls across all scales. There were no significant differences between PFAPA patients after tonsillectomy and controls
