Impairment of cell–cell adhesion in patient skin specimens. Paraffin-embedded specimens obtained from plantar skin (C), PPK (AN-PPK) and SCC (AN-SCC) areas of RSPO1-mutated XX-sex reversed patient, and PPK (K9 mutated -PPK) areas of patients suffering from epidermolytic PPK due to R162W mutation in KRT9, were immunostained with antibodies against desmoglein 1, β-catenin, E-cadherin, Wnt-10a, Wnt-4 and Wnt-5a.
