Proposed algorithm for systematic retinal screening and management in patients with incontinentia pigmenti. Initial fundus examination is performed in the clinic, ideally in the 48 h following diagnosis confirmation by expert dermatologist soon after birth, using indirect ophthalmoscopy, with particular attention to the periphery of the retina. It is followed by systematic examinations according to a specific calendar displayed in the figure
