RT-PCR results of the relative expression levels of different HIF target genes normalized to 0, following propranolol treatment. The proapoptotic gene Bax, is upregulated relative to the initial time point during the clinical trial, whereas Epo, Sox, and Oct 4 gene expression is downregulated in response to propranolol. The results are representative of one of the patients included in the clinical trial. RNA was obtained from the PBL fraction. Each RT-PCR was repeated at least three times and in triplicate
