We used 2-dimensional echocardiography to measure both, aortic root diameters and main pulmonary artery (MPA) diameters. We performed all measurements at end-diastole perpendicular to the long axis of the vessel using the leading-edge method. We assessed aortic root diameters in the parasternal long-axis view at the level of the aortic sinuses (left panel) [62], and we measured MPA diameters in the parasternal short-axis view at the level of the maximum diameter above the root of the pulmonary artery (right panel).
