Earliest muscle MRI changes in newborn patients with IOPD. a-d At 13 days of age, no significant signal changes in the thigh were revealed on T1WIs (a) obtained from NBS14, with equivalent findings on T2WIs (b). However, significant signal changes were observed on STIR images (c, d), which revealed hyperintensity, particularly in the vastus lateralis (arrowhead). e-h At 7 months of age, hyperintensity was noted in the anterior region of the thigh muscles on T2WIs (G, asterisk) and STIR images (h, arrowhead) but not on T1WIs (e, f)
